SUE BEE HONEY PRO WINS PROFESSIONAL WALLEYE TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP SHOOTOUT
Sioux City, Iowa (October 21, 2008) Sue Bee Honey-sponsored pro fisherman Gil Mollet of Jefferson, S.D., has won the Professional Walleye Tour (PWT) Championship Shootout held on Saturday, Oct. 18, in Hudson, Wis. Mollet turned in a five-fish limit weighing in at 12.50 lbs. and took home a beautiful trophy and a check for $50,000.
When asked about the win and his relationship with Sue Bee Honey, Mollet commented, “After having some second- and third-place finishes, I was beginning to think that I would never win. I’m absolutely ecstatic that I finally did win, and it’s an honor to have such a great company as Sue Bee Honey backing me. When I’m out on the road, I know who I’m representing.”
Back home Mollet is a corn and soybean farmer. He added that his relationship with Sue Bee is special because Sue Bee Honey represents the many beekeepers through the Sioux Honey Association. “They’re farmers too, they understand what farming is all about - they get it,” said Molett.
Jim Powell, vice president of sales and marketing at Sue Bee Honey, added, “For nearly five years we have proudly sponsored Gil and we are excited to see him win a PWT title. He is such a great representative for our company and we look forward to his continued success.”
When asked what may have contributed most to his win, Mollet paused, grinned and said, “I put honey on my lures to sweeten them up!”
